Beeswax Birthday Candles

When is a birthday candle not a birthday candle?

It’s because the beeswax has a higher melting point than other candles and only the wax next to the wick reaches that temperature so a liquid “well” forms next to the wick and the wax doesn’t run down the sides.  Now you know how the French woman in the Hallway of Mirrors at Versailles didn’t end up with wax all over their dresses.
